Letters From God… Rejuvenate

November 7, 2011

Happy Monday to you.  I pray that your weekend was blessed and the Lord will move in you mightily today.

Enjoy the words of the Lord today!

Rejuvenate

Are you tired?  Do your feet move at a slower pace?  Do you sit down and your body just sinks into the couch so deeply that you have to will yourself to get up?  Is the schedule so full it overwhelms you to look at it?

Mmmm… I understand and so does our Heavenly Father.  As moms, we find ourselves going, going, gone.  We have to keep up the house, the children, our husband, schoolwork, sports, volunteer work, church, and many more things.  When and where do we draw the line?

In Luke 5:16 it says, “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”  Jesus was a very busy man.  He was counseling, teaching, loving on little children, healing the sick.  Jesus knew that his physical body needed rest and his spirit needed to be rejuvenated.  If Jesus needed this, how much more do we need it?

Let’s learn from Jesus and stop to take the time to rest our bodies and rejuvenate our spirit.  “But how do I do this?” you ask.  Put the housework aside, the house and its work will be there tomorrow and even the next day.  Go to bed early.  Spend time with the Lord every morning.  Let Him fill your spirit and prepare you for the day.  Take time at night to meditate on the Lord.  Allow him to rejuvenate your spirit.  You are important and you must not forget about yourself.

Dear Heavenly Father.  Please help me to stop and rejuvenate my body and spirit.  Please help me to put the things of this world down and allow You time each day.  Help me to follow Jesus’ example and to find lonely places to pray.  Thank you for resting my body and filling my spirit.

In Jesus Name,  Amen.

This is an excellent reminder of what should be most important in our lives – Christ, reading and studying His Word, resting in Him, sharing the Gospel to the lost. It’s only when we rest in HIM that we have enough energy to take care of our little corner of the world.
