Walk in His Grace…
We are freely given the unmerited favor and love of God, known as grace. All he asks of us is to surrender our heart to Him. Really it is not so big a request when you look at all you get in return.
Grace – it is freely given to us by God. He does not give us conditions and “what if’s.” Even with our sinful nature, He loves us and extends favor to us. We don’t lose His grace because we yelled at our kids. Nor do we lose it when we get angry at our husbands because we don’t feel they understand what we do all day long. God still extends grace to us. But what about us? How do we extend grace?
Do we extend it by running our mouths with grumbles and complaints? Do we extend grace when we let our thoughts run out of control and our anger builds in us?
I know I am guilty of handling myself in these ways and many more. Grace is not easy. It takes effort and it takes a Christ centered mindset. It requires us to talk to God instead of talking to others. It requires us focusing on God’s Word instead of on our own words.
When we get frustrated, feel unappreciated, feel like flying off the handle, we need to cling to God’s Word. We need to “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). We also need to follow Philippians 2:14 that tells us, “Do all things without complaining and disputing.” (NKJV)
When we take the focus off of ourselves and run to the Lord, then, and only then, will we be able to extend grace to others.
Walk in Grace with the Lord and extend His Grace to others.
Be blessed,
Tirzah

There’s a phrase written by Julia Johnston in a wonderful old hymn….”Grace, grace, God’s grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within; Grace, grace, God’s grace, grace that is greater than all our sin.” We are so unworthy, but so blessed, that God extends grace to us. How can we do less to others!
We have a page about extending grace on our blog as well. Here’s the link: http://www.boydbrainmusic.wordpress.com/extending-gods-grace/
